Princethorpe College rugby player Joe Stimpson has been invited to train as part of  the Leicester Tigers Elite Player Development Squad. The thirteen year old from Lutterworth  says that he is ‘very excited’ at the prospect of playing at Oval Park and training with some of the best young players in the area.

Joe, who currently plays at No8, has represented Princethorpe at Rugby since he joined the school. Despite suffering a set back with a  serious knee injury last season he is determined to prove to the Tigers what a quality player he is. A keen allround sportsman and competitive rugby player for Lutterworth Under 14’s Joe has plenty of experience under his belt.

The Tigers Elite Player Development Squad will support Joe for the next three years. Should he play successfully during that period then the next stage of his progression will be the Tigers Academy. Master  in charge of Rugby at Princethorpe  College, Mr Jon Fitt  added, ‘This is an exceptional invitation from The Tigers proving what a talented sportsman Joe is. Princethorpe Rugby is clearly on the up and with players like Joe this promises to be a terrific season.’
