News - 25/09/2009 - Crackley Bumper Collection To Celebrate Harvest Festival
Pupils at Crackley Hall School have been busy collecting and growing food to donate to a local charity. Tins, bottles and packets of long life food as well as fresh produce, some of it grown in the school’s own gardens, were collected for the Coventry Road School’s Harvest Mass Celebration. Father Kevin Hooper blessed the displays and collections of produce that are to be given to the Coventry Cyrenians; a charity which supports the homeless and vulnerable. Food packages will be distributed to those members of the community who find themselves living rough and on the streets.
Head of Crackley Hall School Mr Paul Ryan commented,
‘Our young people are always so generous when it comes to providing charitable donations. This year we have combined our harvest celebrations with a community message allowing the children to reflect on those in need.’
