Two teachers from Princethorpe College completed the London Marathon wearing full  school uniform. Biology teacher Mrs Catherine Warne ( 37) and English teacher Ms Emma Litterick ( 41) took to the streets of London in an effort to raise over £1000 for their chosen charity Hope for Children. A number of fund raising initiatives were held at Princethorpe College including  a cake sale and a raffle as well as a mini marathon held at Crackley Hall, Princethorpe’s feeder school in Kenilworth. Both teachers delivered assemblies to students about Hope for Children raising pupils’ awareness of world poverty and child hunger.

‘This was my fifteenth marathon and was probably one of the most enjoyable ones I have run,’ explained veteran runner Ms Litterick, ‘we ran the entire distance together  in 3 hours 50 minutes and received loads of support on route as were dressed identically. Whilst it wasn’t one of our fastest races we loved every minute of it. I’m not quite sure of what our students would say about the state of our uniforms at the end of the race!’

Catherine and Emma  will be repeating the twenty six mile challenge  as they will be running the Edinburgh marathon on May 23rd. So far they have raised in excess of £1000.
