Crackley Take Second Place At The Nuneaton Festival

01 May

On Wednesday 29 April, Crackley Hall's Performance Poetry Club set off to The Abbey Theatre to take part in the Nuneaton Festival of Arts.

Pupils competed in the Juniors competition, in the Speech and Drama section of the festival. In front of an audience that comprised of other schools, teachers, parents and the adjudicator, the children bravely took to the stage to deliver a polished performance of Teacher’s Pet by Tony Mitton to great applause. Their second poem was Car Trip by Michael Rosen, and they performed with such energy and fun, it really resonated with the audience. Crackley Hall finished in second place overall, beating teams from Ruckleigh School, Stratford Preparatory School, and the Year 3 and 4 team from the specialist performing arts school, Pattisons. Well done to Pattisons' Year 5 and 6 team who just pipped Crackley Hall to the post by one mark. Mrs Wildey was immensely proud of all our Crackley team and their superb performances. Their next challenge is their group LAMDA examination in a few weeks time. Well done girls!
