School’s Art Exhibition Raises £1,000 For Birmingham Children’s Hospital

Back in March, the school hosted an art exhibition, showcasing the creative talents of pupils from Nursery up to Junior 6. The art show featured a diverse array of artwork created by our pupils, all inspired by the great masters. While producing their pieces, the children made the most of the opportunity to study their paintings, learning about inspirations and colour palettes.

The exhibition’s organiser, Art Teacher, Carrie Holmes, said: “It was incredibly fulfilling to see the children’s work go on display and to know that their art would make a difference to the lives of others.” She continued: "Thanks to the generosity of their family and friends, our art exhibition raised an incredible £1,000 and we are proud and delighted to donate that money to support Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Art has the power to heal, bring people together and make a massive difference in the lives of their brave young patients."

At the end of June, we welcomed BCH Regional Fundraiser, Amanda Devlin, into school to hear about the work of BCH and to accept the school’s donation. She explained how the hospital helps 100,000 children every year, 46,000 of whom require an overnight stay. Pupils were impressed to hear of the hospital's facilities but less enthusiastic when they learnt that the hospital has a school!
