Crackley's Swimmers Competed In The ISA Midlands Gala

17 Oct

Before half-term, a team of swimmers from Crackley Hall School made the journey to Walsall Baths to compete in this year’s Independent Schools Association’s Midlands Swimming Gala.

Children swam 25m in the pool in individual events and exciting team relays against 34 schools from across the region.

For some of the children it was their very first experience of competitive galas, but as always, Crackley Hall’s pupils encouraged each other, from the start through to the finish of every single race. Across the team, Crackley’s swimmers put in strong performances, with a number just missing out on top three places.

Medals were awarded to:
•    Gold – William G, Oscar W, Harry G and Charlie CE (Year 5 Freestyle Relay)
•    Bronze – Oscar W (Year 5 Backstroke)
•    Bronze – Laura R (Year 5 Breaststroke)
•    Bronze – Sophie H, Raya L, Daya S and Ella J (Year 4 Freestyle Relay)

Overall, the Junior 5 Boys placed first and the Junior 6 Girls came second.

Teacher of Games, Steve Vaughan, said, “As always, there was a fabulous atmosphere poolside, with the whole team willing each other on. We had some excellent swims and tight finishes, Crackley has some very determined children. Many congratulations to our medal winners.”

Well done everyone. We are very proud of you all.
