Eco Committee Plant Mini Wildflower Meadow
04 Mar
On Friday 28 February, in early spring warm sunshine, our Eco Committee and pupils from Junior 2 planted wildflowers down at the bottom of the playground in the Jubilee Garden.
With the support of the PTA, Crackley Hall School signed up to the Earth Restoration Service’s School Flutter Flowers project, which aims to re-flower areas within the school grounds. The wildflowers, which are all native species, arrived in February and have been looked after by our Grounds team since then.
One of our Eco Committee’s three aims is to improve the bio-diverstiy at school, so the team were delighted to use the wildflowers to create a mini meadow in the Jubilee Garden, that will support the return of native species of insects and invertebrates to the area.
Many thanks to the PTA and to Earth Restoration Service for providing the wildflowers. The children are excited to watch them grow!
