Junior 3 Explore Ancient Greece

07 May

On Friday 3 May, Junior 3 immersed themselves in their current History topic when they became gods, goddesses, slaves, soldiers and upstanding citizens of Ancient Greece.

Everyone came to school in costume and enjoyed exciting, practical, hands-on activities that brought their classroom learning alive. Acting out the ancient Greek tragedy of Orpheus and Eurydice was a firm favourite with them all, along with Greek pot designing and Olympic medal making. The children also took part in Greek dancing which was particularly fun, involving lots of circles going in different directions. Mrs Paphitis showed them all how to make a delicious Tzatziki and the day culminated with the children taking part in a delicious feast. It was a fantastic day of engaging learning for all the children.
