Crackley Hall's U11 Netball team earned themselves a Bronze medal in the Bowl at the ISA National Netball finals.
A very excited (and nervous) U11 Netball team travelled to King’s High School on Wednesday 11 March to compete in the ISA U11 National Netball Finals. Taking part were 28 teams from across the country.
The girls showed plenty of resilience and determination in the morning’s group stage where they played six teams. Against strong opposition, they had to dig deep, but they played their hearts out representing Crackley Hall with pride. In their first game, they faced Alleyn Court and, in a closely matched game, they just lost 4-5. Next up were Akeley Wood, and despite fighting hard and showing super skills, they also just lost 2-3. Sacred Heart were next, and they were a well drilled team who beat Crackley convincingly 4-10. Finally, Crackley claimed a well-deserved win, beating Westonbirt Prep 6-3. Their final two matches were challenging, with the girls going down 2-8 against The King’s School and 1-8 versus The Roche. After the group stage, the team had qualified for the afternoon’s Bowl competition.
In the Bowl quarter-final, Crackley faced Thomas’s School Battersea and the team’s tenacity and determination delivered a 3-2 victory. Next up were Ipswich High School in the semi-finals. Despite working well together as a team, the match finished 2-3. The girls went forward to the Bronze medal play-offs where they faced Alleyn Court once again. Crackley Hall's girls never let up and were rewarded with a 6-3 victory.
Mrs Vaughan commented, "The girls were a credit to us on the day. Their team spirit, positive attitude, resilience and willingness to learn and develop throughout the day was excellent. The results didn’t always go their way, but they remained focused and deserved their Bronze medals. They were a pleasure to coach as always."
Well done team Crackley!
