Crackley Hall Celebrates One World Week

23 Feb

Appreciating other faiths, understanding other cultures and considering how we can all build a better world were the key messages of Crackley Hall’s 'One World Week'.

Held just after half term from Monday 19 to Friday 23 February, each year group studied a different faith to help them explore and celebrate our diverse world.  Junior 6 took on Sikhism, Junior 5 explored Islam, Junior 4 reflected on Buddhism, Junior 3 learned about Judaism, for Junior 2 it was Greek Orthodox and for Junior 1 and Reception it was Christianity.

Tuesday was trips day, with classes exploring the respective places of worship as they learned about the faith and its culture. The Reception classes visited our local St Augustine's Church in Kenilworth while Junior 1 went to St Mary's Church in Warwick. Junior 2 took a trip to see a Greek Orthodox Church, Junior 3 visited the Singers Hill Synagogue and Junior 5 went to the Birmingham Central Mosque, all in Birmingham.

Junior 4 and Junior 6 had to wait to Thursday for their trips, but they enjoyed visiting the Buddhist Peace Pagoda in Birmingham and the Gurdwara in Leamington.

It was wonderful to see pupils engaged and listening so respectfully and they were all amazing ambassadors for our school!
